The Guided Tour

Having traveled to many countries, needless to say, I've been on my share of guided tours. I have had some fantastic experiences. For instance, while in Costa Rica our guide, Elias, led us on a wonderful journey through a luscious rainforest. With Elias' guidance, our adventure was far more intriguing than had we hiked it alone. His keen eye kept us safe from vipers. He spotted zebra crickets, (I didn't even know such creatures existed) monkeys, sloths, and explained the various sounds we heard throughout our journey. He revealed things to us in which we wouldn't have noticed with a casual walk. Another guided tour which was just as fascinating was the Louvre in Paris. The guide revealed such interesting facts about each painting or sculpture which stood before us. Of course, knowledge is not the only thing we received from these tours. The most delightful part of the tour was being joined by people from around the entire world. Yes, these tours have introduced us to so many precious souls, who God loves deeply. And with social media, we have been able to keep in touch with many of our fellow sojourners. Again, we would not have noticed these people or the intricacies in the art without guidance. The same is true with the Holy Spirit. We can be led by Him and live a far more exhilarating life as He keeps us from harm, teaches us along the way, and introduces us to people we may not notice otherwise.

We must allow His leading, if we want to receive the most out of this life. To walk in His guidance is to obey Him and listen to Him. He too will point out all the interesting facts along our journey. Believe me, He is never boring, and He will lead us to His treasures. Yes, we may be giving up our autonomy but never an adventure. Living begins with His leading.

Isaiah 58:11

11 And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
